A “Tour de force” Christina Sicoli is an award-winning actress, character-driven comedienne, improviser, voice artist, writer, and visual artist whose singular presence has distinguished her across film and theater. Recognized by ELLE Canada’s On The Radar and NOW Magazine’s Critics’ Pick, her work has screened at numerous international festivals and earned multiple accolades.
Most notably, she received two 2018 Canadian Comedy Award nominations (Best Female Performance and Best Writing for Small Cop) and a 2018 Leo Award nomination for Best Performance. She was also selected for the 2018 Women in Film & Television / Banff World Media Festival Mentorship for her female-driven comedy series Small Cop and named one of five recipients of the Whistler Film Festival’s Women on Top Mentorship in partnership with the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. In 2022, she joined the Women in the Director’s Chair workshop as part of the acting ensemble.
Her “versatility” and “magnetic presence" have earned her rave reviews over the past decade. A triple-threat performer and character actor, Christina graduated with distinction from the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, where a standout moment included tap dancing with the legendary Gregory Hines. She has studied with internationally acclaimed Keith Johnstone, the Boston Shakespeare Company, renowned acting coach Ivana Chubbuck, as well as Ben Immanuel (Haven Studio) and Deb Podowski (Austin-Tuck Studios)
She has also trained under acclaimed horror clowns Mump and Smoot. A beloved stage performer, Christina is a two-time Dora Mavor Moore Award winner known for fully inhabiting every character she plays. She is a 2019 graduate of the Arts Club Theatre Company’s 10th annual Actors Intensive and most recently studied with Bethany Caputo through Chekhov Studio NYC’s Free the Artist intensive.
No stranger to the comedy scene, she’s known for “razor-sharp skills” and “impeccable comedic timing.” She has performed at festivals across North America, including Toronto, Vancouver, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Her training and performance background includes The Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Chicago Comedy Company, iO Theater, Vancouver TheatreSports League, and The Groundlings Theatre & School (Core Track/Writers Lab).
As a creator and writer, she has earned international recognition, with multiple projects selected at festivals worldwide. Known for her focus on troubled characters in socially awkward situations, she draws from personal experience and external influences to shape her work. Her written work has been featured on Funny Or Die (Best of the Web), WhoHaHa, Convos TV, CocoMilk TV, and Paranormal Solutions Inc. (Season 3). She also co-produced and starred in the feature film Fucking Idiots, which premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival 2020.
FUN FACT: Christina is also an abstract artist whose work has been commissioned and sold across Canada and the U.S. and a certified Pilates instructor in contemporary Pilates Reformer grounded in classical roots (Balanced Body), as well as Classical Mat Pilates (Physical Mind Institute Canada).
